MEDIEVAL MUSIC FOR REBELS WITHOUT CAUSE

This intensive three-day program is specially designed for rebellious singers and instrumentalists who need a strong dose of medieval music focused on Goliardic songs, lyrics, and melodies that have survived in the Codex Buranus, better known as Carmina Burana.
The course is directed by Carles Magraner and the collaboration of Jota Martínez, aims to be highly practical with the ultimate goal of performing the repertoire with a deep understanding and rigorous knowledge of its history. Practical sessions will explore how to adapt and interpret Goliardic songs with authenticity and expressiveness, bringing this music closer to contemporary audiences. Additionally, we will delve into the specific instrumentation and ornamentation of medieval and traditional music, providing a comprehensive experience for participants.
The CDM Cultural Foundation offers 12 SCHOLARSHIPS for student selection

- Motivation letter
- Biography, summary of musical background
- Video or mp3 recording performing medieval, Renaissance, or early Baroque music
The resolution of the scholarships will be communicated individually within 15 days after the deadline for submitting applications.
NON-SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS AND LISTENERS
Students who do not receive a scholarship and wish to participate as auditors or active participants can directly enroll by paying the corresponding registration fee.
